Definitions for Box Truck Freight Services
Less-Than-Truckload (LTL):
A shipping method where multiple shippers share space in a single box truck, each paying only for the portion of the truck they use. LTL is cost-effective for smaller freight loads that do not require a full truck and allows for more frequent deliveries.

Partial Truckload:
A shipment that takes up more space than an LTL load but does not require a full box truck. PTL typically involves fewer stops than LTL, reducing handling and transit time while still optimizing truck space.
Partial Truckload
Last Mile / Final Mile:
The final step in the shipping process, where freight is transported from a local distribution center or hub to its final destination, such as a business or residential address. Box trucks are commonly used for last-mile deliveries due to their maneuverability in urban and suburban areas.

Re-Delivery Cross Docking:
A logistics practice where inbound freight is unloaded from one truck and directly loaded onto another with minimal storage time. This process reduces handling and speeds up delivery by eliminating the need for long-term warehousing.
Cross Docking
Hot Shot Delivery:
A fast, on-demand freight service designed for urgent shipments that require immediate transport. Box truck hot shot deliveries are ideal for time-sensitive loads that need to be delivered quickly without waiting for standard shipping schedules.
